Personal Training for Obesity
Living with obesity has more than just cosmetic and social implications; it comes with a greater risk of health concerns that contribute to a shorter lifespan. People that are obese can expect to encounter diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke, just to name a few. The good news is that no matter how obese a person is today, small gains in weight loss have been proven to decrease the risk of these diseases, and have a positive and motivational effect towards improved health.
Obesity is defined as having a high percentage of body fat that is likely to contribute to poor health. This is 20% more than what it should be. A BMI chart (Body Mass Index) is used to as a guideline to determine the percentage of body fat.
The most common reason for obesity is simple. The body consumes more calories than it burns. The formula to decrease body fat is equally as simple, which includes an improved diet and regular exercise. While the formula is simple, we realize this can be a difficult lifestyle change. HomeBodies personal training for obesity is designed as a long-term approach and a very workable solution to getting healthy and embracing a new lifestyle.

"I have to admit, I had reservations starting this program. I felt like there was no hope for me at all.
My HomeBodies personal trainer, Karen, made my transition into exercise fun and educational. She helped me get started, but best of all, she helped me keep going through the tough days. I learned about food and nutrition, and I was surprised how I didn't have to go from Point A to Point B overnight. It was a gradual process that improved as I lost weight.
I am very happy to say that I look at old pictures of myself and can't believe who I used to be. Best of all, in the pictures I take today, I am smiling."

Our personal trainers for obesity can meet you at your home, or at the gym in your apartment building provided you have one. In our experience, most people feel more comfortable exercising in the privacy of their homes, but the choice is yours.
We are not going to come in and say “Drop down and give me 100 pushups.” It is best to think of us as teachers that are committed to making your new lifestyle a reality. We normally start with a fitness analysis that will determine what you are capable of doing today. From there, we will progress at a rate you feel comfortable with, and within the capabilities of your improving fitness skills.
We are also not going to say “Here’s a 1,000 calorie a day food plan.” We have Registered Dieticians on staff capable of creating realistic nutritional guidance that you can follow. Just like exercise, we start with where you are today, and work on gradual improvements you can really do. Again, the focus of our partnership is on improving, and moving towards the direction of your new healthier lifestyle.
And you will be amazed just how much progress we can make in such a short amount time! It is always the last pounds that are toughest to get rid of. The first ones are the easiest. In fact, when you learn to exercise properly, you will see that you can actually do more to improve your health in less time.

You are going to have to tell yourself you are going to set aside a small amount of time each week to allow us the opportunity to help you be successful.
We will show you your progress in short-term intervals. We will teach you how the time you set aside for us has proven to be an excellent return on your investment. Our personal trainers realize exercising isn’t everyone’s favorite past-time, but some time in the near future, when you look back at where you were, and where you are now, you will see your efforts weren’t so bad after all.
